…how I got here…

At the end of 2024, I stopped working full time in London as Head of Investment Finance for a FTSE 100 listed investment management company.

I oversaw the investment of more than £500m into socially and environmentally sustainable property investments.

I’ve been actively working with commercial property since 2001.

During that time I’ve worked for funds, corporate clients and a lot of tenants.

…up until the summer of 2023, I was also an Associate Lecturer at Oxford Brookes University teaching property investment finance and management on the BSc Hons undergraduate programme…

…I’ve also taught valuation and investment appraisal techniques to students at the University of Georgia in the United States…

…through to 2021 I was responsible for over 6,300 commercial properties as Head of Valuation and Professional Property Services for a pension company.

… it was a fantastic privilege working with individual commercial property owners and tenants across the UK, many of them ran their own companies and were generous in sharing their personal experience.

Some of the work I have done has been completely unique - like the investment appraisal of a proposed eco-resort in Mozambique in 2019

…in fact… my work advising commercial property developers and investors has taken me all over the world…

…including the investment valuation of one of the last remaining natural habitats of Mountain gorilla in Gabon in 2018… over 70,000 hectares of land is now protected…result!

I also managed the investment appraisal of bio-mass plantations and processing facilities in Tampa, USA. (US$110 million)

Forestry investment is one of my passions - I was a Forestry Investment Fund manager and investment advisor for five years.

…BUT… 99% of the time, my focus over the years has been commercial property investment investment management with ongoing involvement advising tenants and occupiers.

This is all about paying attention to details and maintaining standards no matter what the circumstances.

…where it began…I trained for my professional RICS membership with two of the world’s leading property consultancy services firms; Knight Frank LLP in London and Bristol, and CBRE in Paris.

I qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2005 and moved to AIG as an investment analyst covering development and investment in the UK and Europe.
